“Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.” Psalm 69:28
Now y’all know that I’m going to refute the legendary Once saved Always saved or Saved by grace alone “faith”. And before you get all arrogant on me, yes I know that we are saved by grace and not by works so that no one can boast but that scripture specifically states through FAITH, in which we know without works is void.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
See so many of us are told that all we have to do is confess with our mouths and “believe” in our hearts that Jesus is Lord and we’ll be “saved” but the pastor left out the next and most important verse..
“That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Our hearts have to believe UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS! We are not getting into heaven offering the Lord emotion and lip service.
“And so the Lord says, “These people say they are mine. They honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me. And their worship of me is nothing but man-made rules learned by rote.” Isaiah 29:13 (NLT)
Salvation takes great effort. It requires true repentance because this “grace” that you depend on isn’t saving repeat offenders.
“Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins. There is only the terrible expectation of God’s judgment and the raging fire that will consume his enemies.” Hebrews 10:26-27 (NLT)
Grace is given to assist in sanctification. It doesn’t excuse sin or permit us to hold on to our old ways of thinking or living!
“What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?
God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein?”
Are you dead to your sin? Are you constantly giving up all of your self centered desires?? Or are you one of those Christians who “repent” every single day for the same exact things???
That’s so carnal, and that’s exactly what this doctrine is. This Once saved Always saved junk produces nothing but lawlessness!
“The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.” Romans 8:7 (NIV)
You and your situations will never truly change, not when you believe that you’re already “saved” or accepted either way.
” I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12:1-2
We have to pursue holiness. We haven’t made it yet! That’s why the scriptures tell us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling.
Sealed with the Spirit
Now I understand that some of you may feel a sense of security because the holy Spirit dwells in you. But first you need to test the spirit because many counterfeits are on the move. The scriptures say that God gives his Spirit to those who obey— not to just any ol’ fool claiming Christianity. Acts 5:32
Do you obey the gospel? Including commands you don’t necessarily agree with or understand?? Or do you just commit to whatevers easy and popular or convenient???
This is serious!
Especially when we think that we don’t have to do a thing. Jesus made it clear that only the ones who DO the will of his Father make it in. .
” Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 7:21 (NIV)
I don’t care how called or anointed you think you are, there are plenty of parables with the Lord’s servants being tossed into the fire. Saul was anointed, and then rejected (king). Even the apostle Paul had to bring his self under subjection lest he be cast away. 1 Cor. 9:27
So he who has an ear let him hear that its not about “receiving” but abiding in the Spirit.
